frequently asked questions

As psychotherapy is a technical and specialized field, it's natural for questions to arise about the role of the Psychotherapist and how they can assist. On this page, you will find answers to various topics that will provide better clarity on therapy and its benefits.

  • What is Psychotherapy?
Many times, life can become challenging and confusing, and sharing our difficulties and sorrows with a professional can bring relief and the reassurance of confidentiality. In a non-judgmental space, you can also start to understand your role in the situation, slowly releasing the ties that bind you. Once no longer held back, you can make choices with more clarity and purpose to lead you where you want to be. To facilitate this process, I am committed to creating a welcoming, safe, and respectful therapeutic environment where clients can feel at ease to bring and address their problems.
  • Who needs to do psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is a type of treatment that is not just for individuals with mental disorders. In fact, it is for anyone who wants to know themselves better and develop skills to handle everyday life challenges. It addresses emotional, psychological, social, behavioural, and cognitive issues, aiming for well-being and personal growth. Everyone can benefit from psychotherapy to live a healthier and happier life.
  • How long does each session last?
Both online and in-person sessions typically last around 50 minutes from the scheduled time, so punctuality is important to make the most of the session time.
  • "In which cases can therapy help me?
Therapy can be helpful in a wide range of situations. It is beneficial when you are going through tough times, such as anxiety, depression, stress, or relationship problems. It can also be beneficial for dealing with past traumas, self-esteem issues, decision-making, and communication difficulties. Additionally, therapy is a valuable tool for enhancing self-awareness, learning to manage emotions, and developing skills to face life's challenges. In summary, therapy can help at any moment when you need support, understanding, and guidance to achieve a healthier and more meaningful life.
  • How much does a session cost?
    £75 per session
  • How long does the Psychotherapy process last?
The duration of therapy can vary from person to person, as each individual is unique and has specific needs. There is no fixed timeline, as therapy is an individualized process, tailored to your goals and progress along the way. Some people may experience significant improvements in a few sessions, while others may require a longer period to achieve desired outcomes. Regular commitment to sessions and a willingness to explore your thoughts, emotions, and challenges during the process are generally important. Regarding therapy for children, it is common for it to be generally shorter than therapy for adults (provided parents are involved and willing to make necessary changes). Working with children is often considered preventive, aiming to help the child develop in a healthy way and avoid potential emotional difficulties in adulthood. The focus is on providing appropriate emotional support and creating an environment that fosters the child's well-being and healthy growth.
  • When should I consider taking my child to therapy?
"If you are wondering if your child needs therapy, look for some important signs. Pay attention if they are showing behavioral changes, sleep problems, difficulties at school, or in social interactions. If they seem frequently sad, anxious, or restless, or if they are facing challenging emotional issues, considering therapy can be an option to help them overcome these difficulties and promote their well-being.
